316L stainless steel is similar to Type 316. 316L stainless steel is also austenitic stainless steel. 316L stainless steel has lower carbon content and additional molybdenum element, so 316L stainless steel is more resistant than Type 302 and 304.
316L stainless steel has good corrosion and pitting resistance and excellent formability. 316L stainless steel is suitable for deep drawing, spinning and bending.
316L stainless steel is suited for marine environments due to its properties. 316L stainless steel can be cold rolled to achieve the temper properties when required. The min. tensile strength is 690Mpa.
