Grade 304L is similar to 304. Both Alloy 304 and 304L are widely used austenitic stainless steel. Alloy 304L is a low interstitial grade with carbon content lower than 0.03%, which combined with an addition of nitrogen makes Alloy 304L suitable for avoiding possible sensitization corrosion in welded components.
