SUS 310S stainless steel: performance and use
SUS 310S is an austenitic stainless steel grade in the Japanese standard, equivalent to 310S in the American standard. It has chromium and nickel as the main alloying elements and has unique performance.
The characteristics of SUS 310S are excellent high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance. In a high temperature environment, it can form a stable and dense oxide film, effectively resisting the erosion of high temperature gas, thereby extending the service life. Its corrosion resistance is also excellent, and it can maintain good chemical stability in a variety of chemical media, including some weakly corrosive solutions.
From the performance advantage, it has good high temperature strength and toughness. At high temperatures, it can maintain a certain strength and withstand mechanical stress without deformation. At the same time, it has good toughness and can effectively resist thermal fatigue and thermal shock. It has good processing performance, whether it is cold processing or hot processing, it can be smoothly formed, and it is convenient to process into various complex shapes of parts. The welding performance is also good, and the welded joint has high strength to ensure the integrity of the structure.
SUS 310S is widely used. In the petrochemical industry, it is used to manufacture high-temperature cracking furnace tubes, heating furnace tubes, etc., and can work stably under the dual test of high temperature and corrosive media. In the metallurgical industry, it is used for high-temperature furnace linings, conveyor rollers and other components to meet the use requirements in high-temperature environments. In the aerospace field, some high-temperature components will also use SUS 310S stainless steel, such as some heat-resistant components of the engine, using its high temperature resistance and high strength characteristics to ensure the reliable operation of the aircraft engine.
