Type 302 stainless steel is an extremely tough, ductile grade that demonstrates superior corrosion resistance to type 301 stainless steel. It is a non-magnetic grade that is not hardenable by heat treating. It is generally used in the annealed condition and is noted for its ease of fabrication and formability.

Features
Type 302 is a slightly higher carbon version of type 304, most commonly found in strip and wire forms. While still used in a variety of industries, many applications have shifted to 304 and 304L due to advances in melting technology, availability and cost.
