What is the difference between nickel base alloy steel and stainless steel

What is the difference between nickel base alloy steel and ordinary stainless steel? In fact, nickel base alloy steel is also a kind of stainless steel in essence, and it is just a special stainless steel. Its chemical composition is also different from that of ordinary stainless steel. Nickel base alloy steel is a kind of high alloy stainless steel with high nickel, high chromium and high molybdenum.

Among them, the famous one is steel containing 6% Mo (254SMo). 254SMo steel has good local corrosion resistance, good pitting resistance and better stress corrosion resistance under the conditions of seawater, aeration, clearance and low-speed scouring (PI ≥ 40). It is an alternative material for nickel base alloy steel and titanium alloy. Secondly, it has excellent high temperature corrosion resistance.

Because nickel base alloy steel is a kind of high-performance special material with high alloy, its manufacturing process will be more complex than that of stainless steel products. At present, most of the nickel base alloy steel products are manufactured by traditional processes, such as pouring, forging, calendering and so on.
