JIS G4304 / G4312 SUS 316 Stainless Steel Composition & Corrosion‑Resistant Austenitic Properties

SUS 316 is the molybdenum‑alloyed austenitic stainless steel grade defined in JIS G4304 / G4312. With 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, it offers significantly improved resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride‑rich environments compared with SUS 304.
