ASTM A240 S32750 / 2507 Stainless Steel Composition & Super Duplex Properties

S32750 / 2507 is a super duplex stainless steel containing 24–26% chromium, 6–8% nickel, 3–5% molybdenum, and nitrogen. With a PREN value above 40, it provides exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress‑corrosion cracking, outperforming 316L and 2205.
2507 is widely used in seawater desalination, marine engineering, chemical processing, pressure piping, and heat exchangers. It offers twice the yield strength of austenitic grades and excellent resistance in chloride‑rich environments. 2507 is supplied as plates, tubes, bars, and forgings. As a high‑performance duplex alloy, it is a cost‑effective alternative to nickel‑based alloys in extreme corrosion conditions.
