1.4845 Stainless Steel Composition & High‑Temperature Oxidation Resistance

1.4845 (X8CrNi25‑21) is a high‑temperature austenitic stainless steel grade under EN standards, equivalent to 310S. With 24–26% chromium and 19–22% nickel, it offers outstanding oxidation resistance and structural stability during long‑term exposure at 1050–1150°C.
The grade performs reliably in oxidizing atmospheres, thermal cycling, and mildly sulfur‑containing environments. It is widely used in industrial furnaces, combustion equipment, heat‑treatment fixtures, insulation structures, and high‑temperature transfer components. Its low‑carbon design minimizes sensitization and maintains corrosion resistance after welding. 1.4845 is supplied as plates, tubes, bars, and strips. It is commonly applied in petrochemical plants, thermal‑processing systems, exhaust assemblies, and high‑temperature structural parts. As a high‑chromium‑nickel heat‑resistant steel, it provides dependable performance in extreme temperature environments.
