JIS G4304 SUS304 HR Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Strips

SUS304 material in JIS G4304 standard is hot rolled stainless steel. Available in plates, sheets and strips.
JIS G4304 SUS304 HR stainless steel is a variation of the basic 18-8 grade, with a higher chromium and lower carbon content. Lower carbon minimizes chromium carbide precipitation due to welding and its susceptibility to intergranular corrosion. In many instances, JIS G4304 SUS304 HR strips and plates can be used in the “as-welded” condition, while must be annealed in order to retain adequate corrosion resistance.
SUS304L is an extra low-carbon variation of Type 304 with a 0.03% maximum carbon content that eliminates carbide precipitation due to welding. As a result, SUS304L HR hor rolled stainless steel strips can be used in the “as-welded” condition, even in severe corrosive conditions. This alloy often eliminates the necessity of annealing weldments except for applications specifying stress relief. It has slightly lower mechanical properties than Type 304.
Application: Pipes and furnace parts, muffles, heat exchangers, retorts, elbows, headers exhaust systems, electrodes of ignition spark plugs, welding machines and containers of chemical engineering, operating at t from -196 to 600°C in media active substance.
